The Bargain Hunter Signal

RSI(2) below 5 while price above SMA200. Extreme oversold in uptrend - buying the dip.

What it detects

Bargain Hunter flags the most extreme short-term oversold condition the scanner measures: a 2-period RSI under 5 while the stock still trades above its 200-day moving average. In plain terms, a violent multi-day flush inside an intact long-term uptrend.

How Signal52 computes it

The pipeline computes the 2-day RSI from daily closes and requires it below 5, a level reached only after consecutive sharp down days, while the close remains above the 200-day SMA. The trend filter is mandatory; deep oversold without it does not fire.

How to read it

RSI(2) below 5 in an uptrend is one of the oldest and most studied mean-reversion setups, and it carries a positive backtested edge here. Expect it to fire on ugly days, since that is what creates the condition. It is a dip-buying signal with a defined character: fast, uncomfortable, and usually resolved within days rather than weeks.

Action Signals in the Elite Score: Action signals are timing patterns: breakouts, volume events, momentum turns, confirmed entries. They answer whether something is happening right now. An Action trigger on a stock with strong DNA is the combination the Elite Engine is built to surface.
