What it detects
Spring Loaded catches the session a volatility squeeze releases upward. A stock whose Average True Range had compressed to a 60-day low suddenly prints a green day with a range more than 1.5 times its ATR.
How Signal52 computes it
Three checks on the same bar: the 14-day ATR within 5% of its 60-day minimum (the compression), today’s high-to-low range exceeding 1.5 times that ATR (the expansion), and a green close (the direction).
How to read it
This is the event-day counterpart to the state signals Bollinger Squeeze and Quiet Storm. They describe the compression; Spring Loaded flags the release. Its small weight reflects a thin standalone edge, so its value is as a timing stamp on stocks whose DNA already argued for a move.
