What it detects
The Golden Cross is the most widely known trend gauge in technical analysis: the 50-day moving average trading above the 200-day moving average. Signal52 tracks it as a state (is the intermediate trend above the long-term trend right now) rather than only on the crossover day.
How Signal52 computes it
The pipeline computes the 50-day and 200-day simple moving averages from daily closes and fires the signal whenever the 50-day is above the 200-day. No event detection and no lookback window, just a continuously evaluated state check.
How to read it
Roughly half the market can be in a Golden Cross state during bull phases, so Signal52 assigns it the lowest DNA weight (0.5). It is a backdrop condition, not an edge by itself. Its real use runs in reverse: a high-scoring setup without it is fighting its own long-term trend.
