The Steady Climb Signal
8+ of last 10 days above 10-day SMA. Orderly uptrend.
What it detects
Steady Climb identifies orderly, persistent uptrends: stocks that spent at least 8 of the last 10 sessions above their 10-day moving average without wild swings. This pattern is typical of steady institutional accumulation rather than news-driven spikes.
How Signal52 computes it
Two tests. The stock closed above its 10-day simple moving average on at least 8 of the last 10 trading days, and its 14-day Average True Range sits in the calmer part of its recent distribution. Consistency plus contained volatility, measured mechanically.
How to read it
Steady climbers are easier to hold and tend to give cleaner pullback entries at the 10-day and 20-day averages. The trade-off is modest velocity; these are rarely the day’s biggest movers. The signal also degrades quickly when volatility expands. A Steady Climb name that starts gapping around has changed character.
DNA Signals in the Elite Score: DNA signals measure structural quality: relative strength, persistent momentum, institutional accumulation, and consistent price behavior. They answer whether the stock has the right stuff. DNA signals carry the heaviest weights in the Elite Score because structure is what separates durable moves from noise.
