The Market Leader Signal

Relative Strength vs SPY at 52-week high. Confirms market leadership.

What does the Market Leader signal detect?

Market Leader measures a stock against the S&P 500 itself. It fires when the stock’s relative-strength line, its price divided by SPY’s price, is at or near a 52-week high. These are the stocks beating the index by the widest margin in a year.

How does Signal52 compute Market Leader?

Each day the pipeline computes the ratio of the stock’s close to SPY’s close, producing the RS line. The signal fires when today’s RS line is within 5% of its own 200-day maximum. A stock can be off its price high and still qualify if it is falling less than the index.

How should you read a Market Leader signal?

RS-line highs frequently precede price highs. A stock outperforming through a market pullback is showing unusual demand, which makes this the signal to watch during corrections: names holding Market Leader while the tape is weak are the usual suspects for leadership when the market turns.

DNA Signals in the Elite Score: DNA signals measure structural quality: relative strength, persistent momentum, institutional accumulation, and consistent price behavior. They answer whether the stock has the right stuff. DNA signals carry the heaviest weights in the Elite Score because structure is what separates durable moves from noise.
