What does the Peak Strength signal detect?
Peak Strength marks stocks trading within 2% of their 52-week high. Stocks near annual highs are the ones the market has been rewarding, so this signal serves as the scanner’s baseline test of relative-strength leadership.
How does Signal52 compute Peak Strength?
The pipeline computes each stock’s distance from its trailing 252-trading-day high. The signal fires when that distance is 2% or less. It describes a state rather than an event: a stock can carry Peak Strength for weeks while it rides its highs.
How should you read a Peak Strength signal?
Because it is a state signal, Peak Strength means the most in combination. Next to Quiet Storm or Bollinger Squeeze it describes a leader coiling near highs. Next to Extension or Distribution it describes a leader that may be running hot. On its own it simply tells you the stock is on the market’s top shelf.
